Location: Calabria. Italy
Date of Birth: 4 March 1875
Throughout his marriage to Fortunata Fragomeno(i), Francesco Moschilla repeated the process of registering the births of his children at least ten times. On Saturday morning, 6 March 1875, he arrived at the ‘Casa comunale’ in Siderno Superiore to register the newest member of his family. At 8:04 am, in the presence of a Civil Officer and two witnesses, he officially declared that on the night of 4 March, at 11:13 pm, in their home on via Flavia, his wife Fortunata gave birth to a male baby, whom they named Andrea. Their son was named in honour of Francesco's father.

Only one photograph has been discovered of Andrea. It was taken in Siderno sometime between 1905 to 1914 when he was in this 30’s. He stands with his hat perched at an angle and thumbs tucked into the front pockets of his waistcoat, the influence of years spent working in America, reflected in the cowboy stance.

EXTRA INFORMATION
The uncropped, original photo includes: Andrea’s older brother Girolamo (standing in the centre); their brother-in-law Giorgio Caruso (standing with hands on hips); and their friend Giuseppe Lizzi (seated).
